About me
My work is specific.
My practice spans acting, puppetry, filmmaking, and education. My method is reduction; finding the precise, living thing at the center of a moment. My puppets are essentialized meaning-making; the stage is morally ambiguous; my work does not offer easy answers. It is real, and good, and exact.
I teach Theatre and Film at Mountain Gateway Community College, where my courses are built around close reading, rigorous analysis, and witnessing performance as an omnipresent constant. I give detailed feedback. I expect real work. My students think and know differently after our time together.
My work lives between making and teaching. I shape objects and ideas that seek meaning–in theatre, in the classroom. Space is malleable; the stage is anthropomorphic–it can be and hold anything. I aim to discover what’s inside that space.
